The All New Ford Ranger

RANGER-BROCHURE-thumbFORD Australia has just unveiled it’s all new,  locally designed and engineered, T6 Ranger Ute Range at the Australian International Motor Show in Sydney.

Introduced by Ford company president Marin Burela as “the largest vehicle development program ever undertaken in Australian automotive history for the world market”. The Ranger destined for Australia will be built in Thailand.

It is brand spanking new from the ground up, with redesigned suspension, steering, powertrains, and braking systems, all sitting on a longer wheelbase and wider tracks. The Ranger was extensively tested from frigid Swedish winter cold to searing Australian Outback heat  and proudly sports Ford’s Blue Oval symbol.

In creating the all-new Ranger, compromise was not a consideration. Drawing on the extensive knowledge and talent of the design and engineering specialists on Ford’s global team, we built it, from the ground up with one objective in mind, to provide a Ute that gives you control, power, comfort and safety.

The 2011 Ranger Ute will debut with three cab choices, two-wheel and four-wheel drive options and two ride heights. Available in 4x2 and 4x4 models, the Ute uses separate chassis construction to maximise its towing capacity and payload capabilities.

With its commanding looks and super tough exterior, the new Ranger remains nice and comfy on the inside with seating for five adults. It even boasts a multipurpose interior storage tray that can support 10 kilograms in weight, perfect for having your lunch on the job site or holding your laptop. There are also plenty of convenient storage spaces along with a six stack CD player with MP3 compatibility.

But the company is keen to stress that, while the new Ranger Ute adopts class-leading up-to-the-minute design, safety and convenience, comfort, with one of the biggest and roomiest interiors in the business, it is still a tough Ute that you can effortless change from 2WD to 4WD and back again.
