New Ford Territory 6.5L per 100klm Hwy Cycle

With over 500 million dollars in development behind the highly successful original Ford Territory, heads are about to turn when the New Ford Territory is released in April.

Refined, re-engineered and re-dressed, the New Ford Territory is clearly still a Territory but it is an entirely different vehicle to drive and own from its predecessor.

While the original Ford Territory is renowned for power output and responsiveness, the new Ford Territory adds several fresh ticks to an already impressive list of boxes including Ecconomy AND Whisper quiet operation.

"The new Territory represents a significant improvement in the key area of refinement by reducing powertrain, driveline, wind and road noise," Michael Stellamanns, Ford Asia Pacific and Africa's NVH Department Manager, said.

Never before has a Territory been so refined and quite. So quiet in fact that the New Ford Territory returns better figures for noise levels in the cabin than other more expensive offerings from other marquise.

"This is critical because quality is a vital part of any product, and the new Territory's refinement – its excellent Noise, Vibration and Harshness properties, referred to as NVH – helps communicate the engineering excellence that underpins this new model."

"The original Territory was a good base from which to work. Improving our existing results was going to be hard but we set stretch targets in our planning and benchmarked the new Territory against some expensive competition," he said.

Of course the big news is the addition of a Diesel offering as well as a new and improved 4.0l power plant.  Returning 6.5l / 100 on the highway the diesel is set to be the big story this year.

With up to 7 seats and a towing capacity of up to 2700kg the Ford Territory should be on your SUV test drive list.
