ECOnetic Ford Fiesta coming soon!
Ford have not only given Australian motorists a glimpse of the near future at the Melbourne International Motor Show held recently, when it revealed a new Focus, a new Mondeo wagon variant, a new-look SY Territory MkII range and Ranger model lines, It also unveiled a new, extremely fuel efficient and environmentally advanced ECOnetic vehicle range that will show the way in distributing ultra-low CO2 emissions technology to consumers.
Unveiling what he describes as one of the most fuel-efficient hatches available, Ford Australia president and CEO Marin Burela, said the Fiesta ECOnetic was an economy car without compromise.
“ECOnetic will be added to our Fiesta model line-up towards the end of 2009 and promises to be one of the most fuel efficient and lowest CO2 emitting vehicles ever offered for sale in Australia. It's clean and green and perhaps most importantly, it can reduce our environmental footprint while saving money on fuel costs.
“By launching a specific model, with dedicated Ford ECOnetic badging to specify its ultra-low CO2 results, we will also be able to offer a clear choice for those customers who prioritise low emission performance.”
Fiesta ECOnetic looks and operates just like a conventional Fiesta, using conventional diesel powertrain technology, yet it has the capability to deliver the best-in-class CO2 emissions compared to its current competitors.
In appearance, the ECOnetic looks almost identical to any other member of Ford's Fiesta range. On closer inspection though, you'll notice a more aerodynamic set of bumpers, lowered suspension and low rolling resistance tyres.
You don't have to forfeit style or performance to drive an environmentally advanced vehicle as it is not only a fantastic looking and affordable car, its just as good to drive too.
